Of the Monotonous Walk Home

Every thought, every word
That has died in the shrill air
L i n g e r e d long after it was heard

Down to the very flesh behind my
Fingernails, clawing like a cat
But coming up dry

While floating through the streets
Like snowflakes, I seek melting,
Pulsating to the heat

Burning through my hands
The responsibility of this life
Running coyly through my glands,

The chalice of this feeling
I want not to drink with remorse
But the desire of my b e i n g.

If you would not listen
I would fall back on the soft snow
And shape angel's wings
That once marked this place,
Like the warmth of
Your touch, like light,
On this damp star-stained night

Only to blow away like ash.

The best view of Heaven is from Hell

Instead of dwelling on ex-boyfriends and loneliness this valentines, I think i'll turn my focus to the tragic love and lives of so many people in war torn countries. I found these pictures of Bran Symondson particularly moving. Instead of wallowing in self sorrow, for which I really have no reason, I'll try to remember those who have it far worse... After all, the best view of heaven is from hell.

I tried to find beauty in your words,
before I realized there was no beauty in your soul.

When the Winter Sun Sets Behind Your Eyelids

When the winter sun sets behind your eyelids
I resort to violence I hang myself in silence

Every time you come I run out of things to say
Every time your hear I run out of things to hear

I said “Father why can’t I hold your hand?”
He said “When you’re forty you will understand”

Cause a man’s a man and a child’s a child
Throw away your Bible and perfect that smile

I Believe in Spring!

Pastels and 70's trends got me on my knees begging for April showers to bring May powers...

But why wait for spring?

Hey Shuga

Sugar Plum Fairy came and hit the streets
Lookin' for soul food and a place to eat
Went to the Apollo
You should've seen em go go go
They said, Hey shuga Take a walk on the wild side
I Said, Hey babe
Take a walk on the wild side
All right, huh

Che coincidenza

One year ago yesterday, with tears in my eyes, I boarded a plane that was to take me for the greatest ride of my life: 5 months living in Rome, Italy. Recounting the momentous adventures and wild experiences, and comparing it to my somewhat bleak present, the dreariness of my day was unsurprisingly amplified. With Italy in my mind, and sadness in my heart, I entered Stone's Throw coffee shop to pour over The Canterbury Tales in my 1649 page long anthology textbook. As I slipped past the grasp of the bitter cold and into the coffee house warmth, I locked eyes with a few familiar faces whom I recognized  from an Italian class I attended after I returned home. They beckoned me over and explained how they met every Wednesday to practice Italian with one another and expand their vocabulary. "Che Coincidenza!" I exclaimed, and with a smile on my face was transported once again past this cold wintery day, by the warmth of the language, to my homeland, where one year ago today my plane touched down on the sunny country.
Let it be, that one year from now, I will be basking in the warmth of the Tuscan sun once more.
